Former WWE Champion Batista has made quite the impact in Hollywood ever since his breakout role as Drax in 2014’s Guardian’s of The Galaxy. The Animal is now about to add another big role to his already impressive film resume, the reboot of the 1984 classic, Dune.
The Hollywood Reporter announced this past Monday that the former multi-time WWE Champion and World Champion Batista would be joining the cast of Dunne, alongside the already announced Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson.
Batista will be playing the character “Beast” Rabban, who is described as “the sadistic nephew of a baron who oversees Arrakis.”
The film is currently in the early stages of pre-production.
After making an appearance on the 10th anniversary episode of WWE SmackDown back in October, there were rumours that Batista may have been returning to WWE in 2019 for a match with Triple H at WrestleMania 35, as tension between the two had been teased on the show. Triple H’s pectoral muscle tear put an end to those potential plans.
Even if The Game didn’t get injured, Batista’s new role will keep him busy for the foreseeable future, which will also affect his questionable future as Drax in the Guardian’s of The Galaxy franchise.
